In the early 1970s, Arch Motorcycles were originally based at No 9 (Railway) Arch, Neilston Street, Lemington Spa.
It was founded by Chris Spooner and Peter Hall, who gave up their day jobs to follow their dreams of being self-employed motorcycle agents.
Originally agents for Yamaha motorcycles, the business developed into a rented showroom at 49 Coten End, Warwick in the old Kenning Car Hire premises, with the workshop remaining in the original Railway arch in Leamington.
In the early ’80’s the opportunity presented itself to buy the premises formerly occupied by Beauchamp motorcycles at 111, Warwick Street Leamington Spa, this became showroom and workshop combined, and endured through the sad loss of Chris Spooner, Peter Hall continued to run the business as sole owner until his retirement.
Thereafter the business was taken over by Graham Welch who continued to provide good service, humour and substantial quantities of coffee to friends and customers old and new.
Arch relocated to the Sydenham industrial estate.
The last motorcycle engineer in Leamington is Full Throttle Motorcycles.
Peter Hall was a trained engineer and Stuart Parsons continues to provide an excellent thorough service and can be found on the Heathcote industrial estate.Sadly Peter Hall passed away in August 2020.
