Soans of Leamington.

The Soans family first moved to Leamington from Bromley in Kent opened up their first single dealership garage in the area on May 1st 1928 at 34 the Parade, now the site of Macdonald’s.

Eventually in 1933 buying what had been the old roller-skating ring in Dormer Place.

Both Dormer Place and the Sydenham remain open at the same time for a while and because Sydenham was a bit out of town for most customers they ran a chauffeur service using a Blue and White? Mk3 Zodiac automatic to drop people back into town.

The Torry Canyon hit the headlines the day after with the RAF bombing the ship in an attempt the set fire the oil onboard. Needless to say, that took all the glory that weekend.
