Chandos Garage – Leamington

The Chandos Garage was at 1A Chandos Street, behind the pub, the Fox and Vivian, and the owner, Frank Brown, also had premises at 40 Clarendon Street.
The earliest advert I found was an advert as an agent for supplying the Quadrant, Rex-Acme, and the N.U.T Motorcycle of Newcastle and the Coventry-Eagle Motorcycle.

The earliest owner in 1925 was a Mr Frank Brown, who also advertised local motorcycle events.
He also had a shop at 40 Clarendon Street.

For a period during the 1930s, the garage was owned by Francis Alfred Sudlow.

By September 1944, Chandos Garage is now selling cars as well as a bargain of the week, a priceless two-berth caravan.

April 194,6 Anthony Lloyd gives notice that he is the sole proprietor of the Chandos Garage, no idea what went on there.

At some point, William Rootes, who is the owner of Jack Butler and Co at 1A Chandos Street, previously Claradon Avenue until 1979, now sells motorcycle parts. Newspaper items confirm his presence there from around 1977 and sometime after May 1994.
