The year is 1996 and the Bull Dog Bash has been running each year since 1986, this motorcycle rally has grown from just a few bikes to 50,000 attending in 2007, it was organised by the Hells Angels Motor Cycle Club.
The event takes place at the Shakespeare County Raceway, Long Marston near Stratford upon Avon and in 1996 they have Eddie Kidd a professional stuntman to perform a stunt that unfortunately, goes horribly wrong.
He had successfully jumped over the track and across the path of a speeding V8 dragster but then he came crashing down a 30ft bank on the other side.
He sustained multiple injuries and a severe brain injury in the accident and he was rushed to Warwick Hospital where he spent 40 days in a comma.
He then spent over a year at the Rehabilitation Centre on Heathcote Lane in Whitnash, Leamington.
In August 2007 he returned to the scene of the crash at the Bulldog Bash which nearly cost him his life.
In 2011 he competes in the London Marathon walking a mile a day in aid of the charity Children with Cancer UK.
2021 Eddie Kidd has very recently had a Top Gear tribute to him by Paddy McGuinness who was his childhood hero.
