In 1976, the former Percy Johnson site at 4 Spencer Street, then owned by the Coventry Garage Group, was incorporated as Horton Motor Company (Leamington Spa) Limited on 5th July 1976. The founding Directors were Mr Alan John Summers and Jeffery George Milner Horton, with a £1 share each and retained the Chrysler Dealership.
At some point, William Carroll became a Director of the company and also Edward (Ted) Lewis also became a director? although he is not shown in official documents.
Jeff Horton has resigned as director and has left the company.
13 January 1987 the Goblin Filling Station was purchased at 41-43 Stratford Road, Warwick.
Anthony Butcher was the owner in 1962 and a Liberal Candidate in 1966 -1968.
30 May 1990 are now selling and repairing computers, probably from what was the General Store.
By March 1996, Alan’s son, Jonathan James Summers, became the main shareholder.
14 May 2003 Horton Motors has been sold to Stickleback Properties Ltd for £150k, for which Jonathan is a Director.
15 January 2004, Horton Motors (Leamington) Ltd, at Stratford Road has been purchased by David John Robert Derbyshire of Lime Garages (Leamington) Ltd, and director of the company.
It becomes a KIA Dealership. (Kia Warwick)
2 April 2008 Horton Motors (Leamington) Ltd has its name officially changed to Lime Garages (Leamington) Limited.
Sadly, Jeffery Horton passed away on 5 June 2011 at Stratford-upon-Avon.
