In August 1937 they patent the Craytonrite elevating lorry tail lift.

In 1939 Howard Clayton-Wright was supplying parts for aircraft and accessories certainly until 1952.

They marketed the Harris Bearing, now being applied, among other things, to airscrew spinners; ” Clayflex ” flexible pipe union, and the ” Dickson ” gasket, now being tried out by several well-known aero-motor manufacturers.

On 24 May 1948, they have produced the Clatonrite self-sealing weatherstrip with a retaining insert which was produced under licence from General Motors Corporation of America.

It was used on many cars until the invention of bonded windscreens which was first used in the UK in 1967. (Vauxhall FD) And around this time the patented Claytonrite Nylastic grease-less track rod ends, fitted on the Morris, Riley and Wolseley cars as standard.

In 1958 they produced the patented Clayflex “bearings” in Nylon and Rubber (Same a current Isolastic or Metalastik bushes) for the reducing of road-noise, still used in every modern car today. They were also used in the spring hangers on Series1 and 2 Land Rovers.

An advert on October 2 1965 – The Lotus Elan as standard fitment used both the Claytonrite weatherstrip and the Clayflex lubrication-free bushes.

July 1966 a trademark was registered for Claymastic and renewed in July 1973.
