Hutfields Garage – Warwick

Hutfields Garage – Warwick

The premises on the Birmingham Road were originally for Hutfields Coaches and Buses, who in 1956 were already on the Stratford Road and providing Coach tours, etc. They moved from the Birmingham Road to what was called Wicks Garage, where the Esso Petrol Station is, and on the opposite side of the road to where the Kia Garage is now on Stratford Road.

Always wondered why the garage door entrance was so tall.

At some point, the Birmingham Road site was purchased by the Coventry Garage Group, where they sold and serviced the Chrysler range.
The group included Percy Johnson’s in Leamington, the Coventry Garage and their Body shop in Coventry and a Ford dealership garage in Stoke on Trent.

In 1973, it changed its franchise to Volkswagen until it was sold.

1991? It was a Porsche dealer owned by Evans Halshaw and then a Renault dealer. 1994?

And then Monarch Porsche dealership, owned by Martin Ladbroke, he also owned Smithfield, the VW agents in Leamington Spa.

Monarch Porsche are now on the Heathcote.

Even had our own referee to make sure we won.
