Normier Tyres at 98 Warwick Street, which then was on the corner of Park Street, was one of the National outlets for Albert Fox who had set up a tyre retreading business from his farm in 1922 in Staffordshire.
Normier Tyres (The Tyre Company Ltd) had premises in Southend, Banbury, Walsall, Stafford and Stoke on Trent which were eventually bought out in 1963 by the Avon India Rubber Company, which gave Avon tyres their first-ever distribution network.
The chain of Normier outlets now becomes The Motorway Tyres and Accessories Company and the word India was dropped and became the Avon Rubber Company.
February 1949 is the last avert found for Normier Tyres in Leamington.
